The Primary Health Alliance is a low cost, high value membership organisation with a focus on community and patient benefit.

Joining the Primary Health Alliance gives members a stronger national voice and access to a shared consortia approach to common interests and issues. We seek to prevent the need to 'reinvent the wheel' in every locality across the country.

Our membership categories

FULL MEMBERSHIP: available to any organisation (including PHOs) which holds a primary health care contract, or which is a membership based organisation representing members/providers who hold a primary health care contract, and which agrees with, directly supports and aligns with the objectives and charitable purpose of the Primary Health Alliance.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP: available to non-PHO organisations whose purpose directly supports and aligns with the objectives and charitable purpose of the Primary Health Alliance and has a material role to play in improving health outcomes across New Zealand (e.g. NGOs).

Subscription levies

Membership levies are set annually by General Meeting resolution. Levies for 2017-2018 financial year (1 July - 30 June) are as follows:

FULL MEMBERS: PHOs - $4,000 per PHO plus 6.13c per enrolled service user (ESU). For example, a PHO covering a population of 30,000 would pay just $5,839 plus gst ($4,000 + 30,000 x 6.13c)

FULL MEMBERS: NON-PHOs - Levies are based on the Member's annual income as per their latest accounts and range from just $1,000 to $30,000pa

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS: Levies are based on the Member's annual income as per their latest accounts and range from just $500 to $15,000pa
